About the agency
A family business built to last.
Beverly and Curtis Barlow started this agency in St. Marys in 1987 with a simple idea — that people deserve an agent who actually knows them, knows their community, and isn’t just pushing the easiest policy out the door. For more than three decades, that’s exactly what they built.
Chris Barlow has called Camden County home his entire life. He’s been part of this agency since he was 15 — Curtis Barlow’s policy on idle afternoons was simple: you’re not going home to sit in the A/C, you’re coming to the office. What started as after-school work turned into a career, and eventually ownership of the agency his parents built. His sister Joy joined the agency in 2001 and today manages the Hinesville office, bringing the same family approach to Liberty County that Camden County has known for decades.
As an independent agency, we’ve never been captive to any single carrier. We represent 30+ insurance companies and shop the market at every stage — new business, renewal, and whenever life changes. That independence is the whole point. It means we’re always working for you, not for a brand.

Chris and Joy grew up watching their parents do this.
When Beverly and Curtis Barlow built this agency, it wasn’t just a business — it was a commitment to their community. Chris and Joy watched their parents take that seriously. They answered calls at night. They helped neighbors after storms. They showed up when it mattered.
Chris has been part of the agency since he was 15. Joy joined in 2001. Between them, they’ve spent their entire working lives learning this industry, this market, and the people they serve. When Beverly officially retired in February 2023 after more than 35 years, she handed the agency to people who had been prepared for it their whole lives.
The names on the door have changed slightly. The standard hasn’t.
